I have Got two 512MB PC2700 ram's. These both work fine individually in my ASUS A7N8X Deluxe mobo.

But put these together and the computer just resets at the same time while booting win98. It isnt random, it is at the same point. I have run the step by step conformation, but it is sometime after all that it resets.

I have tried them in all combinations in the three dimm slots with the same result. Anyone got any ideas.

Thanks

Disable Quick Power on Self Test in the BIOS and see if Memory test will pass for one or both of the module(s) on boot up.

That is what happen to me. Crashes and reboot left and right. I through the kernel got corrupted or something. Try to re-install Windows and got the stop errors. Disable Quick Power on and let the Memory test run on boot up. Find out one of the module is bad. :( Now I have to re-install everything. Double bad... :(

Would that memory happen to be Crucial? If so, check out this thread in the Motherboard forum. Do a find (Ctrl-F) on ArchAngel777, and read his post and maybe there on or even at the beginning. In short, there is a known problems with PC2700 Crucial, but right now it escapes me if it's 512 MB and/or 256 MB modules only.
