Meet The Press 10/26
Mccain and Tom Brokaw, Mccain was just painful to watch. Painful!
First Tom talked about Mccain?s recent split with Bush policies, then Tom played clips of Mccain praising Bush and his policies as lately as last June.
Then, a clip of Mccain standing beside Bush talking of how he welcomes Bush's help in campaigning.
But what was so telling was the camera cutback to Mccain. A Mccain obviously very disturbed, shaken and Mccain begins talking, shaking, fiddling constantly with his hands and ink pen. VERY VERY WEIRD!!!

Later comes more clips about Mccain and taxes "then" vs Mccain's statements "now".
And again, the cutback to Mccain Having trouble talking, choking often, again just so very WEIRD!!!

I'm not sure if Mccain was ready to explode with a tantrum (like his brother saying FU to 911 and hanging up on his 911 phone call. Does that run in the family???), or if Mccain was just upset he can not have it (the issues) both ways.

A must see TV. Meet The Press 10/26.
PS. Oh, you get to see old racist Rush Limbaugh clips,
and Mccain TRYING to remember the names of Secretaries of State that he claims supports him. Another VERY VERY WEIRD...
This is just getting sad for Mccain. Totally sad.

Sorry to say I missed it. But if it's as you say, then frankly I'm not interested. It's been a disappointing campaign to watch and I'm only supporting McCain this November because the thought of an all-liberal gov't scares me more. He's not a true conservative's choice because he's been all over the map in recent years and has fvcked us on certain votes (immigration) such that I don't fully trust him. It's a hold-your-nose type vote for me, nothing more.

The memory loss one in first link is sad :( But I've said it before, when you're 72 you're already losing a great deal of intellectual speed. This is demonstrable fact, so we cannot be surprised.

Linked.

4:09 to around 6:30 mark, look at his body language. According to the body language special run on the History channel, he's trying to soothe himself (i.e. "Everything will be ok) by stroking one hand over the other. I almost feel bad for him, he looks like a defeated man.

Brencat, shame on you for voting for McCain who will only accept endorsements (i.e. Bush) when it will benefit him. Is that the type of backstabber you associate yourself with? /sadface.

That second link, mccain talking about spreading the wealth and then the damning vids brokaw brings up. No way mccain doesn't see those and realize he is a lying douche. I cannot watch anymore. This interview looks almost as bad as the couric/palin one. His entire campaign is a complete trainwreck, but the biggest tragedy is how many tens of millions he's duped into following him.

At this point, i suspect that McCain is running on altered chemistry, if you know what I mean. His handlers are clearly keeping him buzzed up on some sort of witches' brew of supplements and prescriptions. He's way out there.

All perfectly legal, I'm sure, but that doesn't mean it's not exquisitely weird.

Perhaps the weirdest thing he said was about how Reagan reigned in spending, which was total revisionist history at its finest...

Ya know, that was my thought exactly when I saw those clips. He did seem like someone buzzed on speed.

Campaign reps for Sen. John McCain obtained an herbal supplement touted to enhance memory and keep energy levels up for the candidate before his joust with Sen. Barack Obama, a source tells us. Four-time Super Bowl champ Bill Romanowski, whose company Nutrition53 produces the capsule Neuro1, said: "I won't confirm or deny that Sen. McCain is using our product, but it's phenomenal for any person with stress and an overwhelming travel schedule."

That was before the first debate, I believe. He might still be taking the stuff. I guess it's speculation, though. :p

At this point, I think even McCain realizes he is going the lose, too many polls out there saying that and no polls pointing to a win, and without a game changing issue or event, polls this late are good predictors.

But he has to go through the motions, telling his supporters that he will win, but privately he is telling Cindy, not to bother taking drape measurements in the oval office.

And even as a partisan dem, I have to say John McCain has some redeeming qualities, and I have to have some sympathy for a man who has seen eight years of careful waiting to be President go down the toilet, mainly because of GWB.

But McCain has to go through the motions on places like Meet the Press, his denial there are already on auto pilot, I think what he is looking at now is all the scapegoating he is going to get after Nov 5 from all his fellow republicans. They will not be as gentle as Brokaw, and the choices may be walk the plank or get boiled in oil.

I thought he was on speed for the last debate as well. The eye-blinking is either nerves or speed. :) May be ephedra.

There's this pattern I'm seeing in how his personal beliefs, opinions and urges are conflicting with the wants and needs of the party he represents.

This conflict manifests itself in many awkward ways, many of which presents itself under moments of stress, like when he appears on network news in an adversarial situation where he has to defend an political or philosophical ideology other than his own personal one, of which, from a historical point of view gave him his "maverick" persona.

From his Senate seat, he could be who he was and not worry too much about keeping in lock step with his party, as he could do it from a distance. At functions where he could be himself and not worry about his conflicted relationship between him and his party, he seems just fine and in fact seems to be a very likeable kind of guy; the guy that I once felt very comfortable with.

Now that he represents all of those varied interests that in sum total define his party, he finds himself in the very odd and awkward position of having to defend some of those ideas that he detests and strongly disagrees with. In concert with other contributing factors, this confusing and sometimes exasperating behavior reveals iteslf.

I'm guessing he believes that once he rides this campaign out and successfully gains office, he can go back to being his old self and force his will on the party as the titular head of same.

just my $.02 worth's...

In good quality video, all in one piece.

Well worth the single 30 second commercial.

The weakst of our citizens votes for bad and evil government because they fear the better government, our of irrational and ignorant fear.

When a party is so indefensible, the only thing they have left is FUD - Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt about the 'other guy'.

A sort of 'vote for Hitler because the other guy will do even MORE genocide' - basd on nothing - argument'.

More rational 'conservatives' are better able to know when their side has the terrible candidate, but the cult members are locked in to opposing the 'other guy' blindly.

What, exactly, are you so afraid of if the democrats control all branches? Are social security and Medicare - policies that only passed because they had all the branches - to terrible?

I understand it's now fashionable to say all the branches with the same party is not good when the Republicans look so bad - something we did not hear when Republicans had them.

Are you afraid of a repeat of the 'terrible' presidency of Clinton who reversed 12 years of big deficits? Or Carter who set the nation on course after the big economic problems following the middle east oil embargo on the US, to make energy independence a national priority (reversed by Reagan who embraced foreign oil)? The terrible policies of JFK and LBJ who cut poverty by a third, while having a great economy and putting a man on the moon?

The terrible policies of FDR and Truman, who put the New Deal economic system protections in place that today economists say are the protection from the current crisis?

I'm so tired of right-wing ignorant paranoia that ignores the clear facts about what's good for the country. You fall for the Republican propagand with cute words like 'morning in America' and ignroe the facts whether they're the big Republican deficits to make government redistribute wealth to the top, or things like the murderous foreign policies such as Reagan's backing of terrorist forces across Central America, and you just 'hate democrats', including being against the candidate clearly better for America this election.

I saw the tail-end of it this morning. But after seeing all of this, he got stuck in the "socialism" agenda.
