Ok so I decide to dish out the cash to get some new hardware...
My Purchase:
ASUS A8N-Sli Deluxe
AMD 64 3500+ 939 90nm (winchester)
Twin Corsair pc3200 512mb (value)
eVGA GeForce 6800 GT
Wasn't able to add my Corsair XMS series ram but thats ok.. I kept my same CD-RW and DVD Rom and WD 7200 RPM 8mb 80gig hd and WD 5400 RPM 2mb 60 gig..
my old system worked fine with the ASUS A78NX-Deluxe and Barton 2500 and GeForce4 4600.
Well now with this new system I am getting these very gay machine_check_exception
Stop: 0x0000009C (0x00000004, 0x80545FF0, 0xB2000000, 0x00070F0F) messages.
I have sort of narrowed it down to my second slower slave hd. the 5400 rpm one. If i unplug it i get no crashes. I plugged it back in and was running fine for a while, then did a system virus scan and got bsod again. I also tried coping my files from my backup slave drive to my main drive and got bsod more. So I unplugged my CDroms and plugged my secondary HDD on that cable by itself as long with my primary HDD, both as Masters on their own cable. I am now able to copy all the files from one drive to the other w/o a bsod. Now, I know this drive isnt bad or I wouldn't be able to access it and pull files from it or use it. So is this a bad MOBO? Or maybe just incompatibility that needs to be fixed w/o a bios update from them? I have the latest 1006 bios. I really hate waiting for an RMA to be sent out then sent back so thats really my last resort. Is the MOBO bad and just cant function right with these 2 drives? or is it something that can be fixed from them w/ a bios update? PLEASE HELP!!!!! NEED ANSWERS
