Another Laptop battery question

I know these types of questions have been asked many times, but I could not find an answer to my specific query. I have a Eurocom (Clevo) D500P, and I have it running on the AC power most of the time, I have gathered that over-charging is prevented while plugged in and I have no worries about keeping it plugged in while running.

My specific question is: when the laptop is OFF is it better to keep it plugged in, or unplug it? I'm thinking it will be better to keep it in and prevent the 'natural drain' of the battery, but is it better for overall life of the battery? The reason I'm a little worried is that hte battery life isn't that long on this thing, so I want to make sure it runs its best.

The natural drain can not be prevented by keeping the battery in the laptop. It can have a negative effect because as the battery gets drained, it would get recharged a certain point and have it drained again, reducing the number of times the battery can be charged at that particular cell. All that leads to a shorter battery life.

Now, if you're talking about unplugging it over night while you sleep and plugging it back in the morning, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not worth the hassle.

If you're not going to use the laptop for a while, like weeks, it'd be best to leave it unplugged as there still is a bit of heat generated (and it can overheat, although rare). That and the discharge/recharge cycle will be reduced.
