I did a search and did not find a thread here on this-Has there been any consensus on whether Costa Rica or Malay chips are better for overclocking, etc.

They're all fab'ed in Oregon (I believe they only have one 22nm site right now) and just shipped to either Malaysia or Costa Rica for final assembly/testing. The assembly location has absolutely no bearing on the actual die.

The malay one is the one with the misprint on the box (95W and not the correct 77W).

Also intel is pretty big on 'copy exactly' with their factories...so even if fabbed in a different country I doubt there would be any difference. It's one reason they are able to transfer production to different fabs so seamlessly.

The chips themselves are probably pretty similar, but the TIM and how well it's put together might not be.

I'm still waiting for better mb's , when the time comes to buy the cpu , I'll get the highest week I can find at a shop,[some had week 13 last week]
some guy's are still getting 2011 chips from the net. L15xxxxx
x213xxxx =
-year 2012
-week 13
as most ib users[95%] are in a under volting competition @ 4.5, $350-$600.00[cpu\mb] systems with a $29.65 dollar cooler ,it's hard to tell what batches are better ,but to me the newest batches you can find can't hurt at this point.
