Another IBM Fanboy Report

I broke off one of the keys on my T42's keyboard. Tried to get it serviced through my local dealer. Those idiots couldn't get it done for 4 weeks. Called up IBM on Saturday; told them it was my fault. Got two keyboards Tuesday morning.

IBM service rocks. The last time with my Dell I had to deal with some moron who couldn't understand anything and kept me on the phone for hours.

Hurray for IBM.

as big of a fan as I am with IBM, I think the experience is person dependent. I have gotton awsome service as well as crappy ones too. You get a lousy rep on the phone ( which I have a number of times) you will have a bad experience. Sometimes, I agree, they do go out of their way.

Yea, i've had 2 service experiences w/ my t40 since august. A notebook fell on my keyboard throwing off 7 keys, called on Sunday night. Less than 36 hours later (tuesday morning), my new keyboard arrives.

My battery had been getting very "eh" lately and I bought the laptop in the very beginning of sept through my university a year ago, so I knew that hte warranty was expiring. I call them up, he says it was sold August 6th but I explain my story to them (this was on Monday) and yesterday morning! (less than 24 hours later), I am awoken to a new battery.

These guys are amazing when it comes to service, and everytime i've made a service call, I have never had to wait, at all! Plus, their tech support guys are really nice and they speak english!

Aside from the awesome performance of my T40, the service w/ IBM makes the purchase even more worthwhile.

IBM has probably the best service in the industry as far as I am concerned.
Even if they screw up the make it good. I had a couple of bad expiriences with the depot repair.
They just couldn't get my T40 back to the way it was before the 1st repair.

So bottom line after a few escalations with not much work on my part.
The executive team took over and told me to pick any notebook I wanted from them.
This was on a Thursday and the following Tuesday my new X40 (see Sig.) arrived.

LOVE IBM

The left arrow key on my T42 just broke loose. I was able to clip it back into place. Won't go through the trouble to ask for a replacement keyboard since there's nothing really wrong with it.

I'm confident of IBM's service levels.
