Another I love EVE thread

I love the flexibility and the freedom that you have to do just about anything that you want. People have the flexibility to run macro miners and I have the flexibility to steal from their jettison cans. So far I've made about 6 million ISK off these generous souls.

I loved the..grand scale of eve, and even the graphics. However, I found it boring. I wish a good combat/action based game would use the scale and graphics of Eve..thatd be nice.

How do you even run the demo. It asks for a key. Like, where do you get one for the demo?

Do a google search for EVE 14 day trial, you'll get a ton of places where you can get a key from.

the game is boring. I mean it was fun for the first couple of months but frequent 30 min travel times and wasting countless hours backtracking when you die gets REAL old. that game is meant to be played afk or in the background

Can you never leave your ship in this game? I am reading the FAQ now and it says that you cannot explore planets or spacestations..........

you will never be able to leave your pod, thats true

but with the next major patch/expansion they are planing to include planitary flight so that finaly you can visit planets.. in a ship

it is a space sim, not a fps or anything like that, no point in leaving your ship since space is where the gameplay is

It's a space-sim, it's not an RPG where you go into first person and start killing enemies.

I tried Eve for the 14 day trial. From what I played, I hated it. I felt so confined. Why can't I get off of my ship and explore a space station? Why can't I land on this planet and check out the sunrise?

The game is severely limited and the design isn't that ground breaking in my opinion. Space sims are fun, but this one isn't. I guess you could say I was really bored to death with it and felt confined like a rat... It is ironic really, all of space and I feel more confined than I do on a HL 2 map.

Some people love the game, happy for you, it just didn't do anything at all for me.
