HeyHeyHey!!!

This computer will be used for recording voice and a little audio at some of my chruch's meetings. We are going to order a Mackie Digital Mixer for it that will input multiple sound streams (up to like 10 channels i believe) to the PC Via FireWire.

This PC will be used only on a monthly basis and will be "stored" at my house (**cough** New HTPC **cough**):D. The mains concerns will be low noise and low heat (whic h kinda go together), and also portability, as we have to set up our sound system every month at a rented hotel meeting room. Also the system has to be fast enough to import at least 6 audio streams from the mixer simultaneously (if an when we use it to record live music performances).

I have laid out the rig below as a template for what I believe is adaquate (or way more than adaquate ;))

I wouldnt trust either of those hard drives get a seagate or WD, if you dont feel you need the AIW features of the 9800, get a 6600GT, I seems like your not gonna o/c, I would get the 3200+, isnt it like $50 more? You should get an Epox mobo, I heard they are great, i'm runing 2x 512 corsair value cas 2.5 on one of my PCs, runs great.

BTW, can you give me a link to that LCD screen? thanks.

A few things....I don't know how quiet that SFF is going to be....you should look into silentpcreview.com, if you want to go real quiet. Second, I am with BZ, no go on the HD's, get something more reliable.

Third, if you are going to do live recordings and you are going to get it all in from a Mackie mixing board, you need to get some nice audio ins for the computer....look for the hammerfall series (just google it!) Best stuff out there.....but pricey!

hey waldo, you must've misunderstood my first post, the audio is going IN via FIREWIRE.

Because the signal is all Digital (firewire) high quality sound card is not required.
