Another "Help with File Sharing" thread.

I have XP pro on two machines on LAN. I want to be able to "share" the desktop on each machine so I can drop files through the network.
I have read the following two threads to no avail.
Text and here.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but this is driving me crazy.
I can see the machine's desktop but when I try to copy a file I get the Access Denied error message.

I have the exact same username/password on both machine and I have admin privledges.
Any other info I can provide, just let me know.

thanks.

Setup the guest account with a password, then a box will popup where you can type in that password. I think as long as you don't logoff you can access it anytime without typing in the password again. That's how I do it.

Would I set it up on both pc's since I want to drag and drop from/to each?
I'll give that a shot. I think I disabled the guest account because I read somewhere it was "unsecure".
Do you have a password assigned to it?
thanks

Yeah setup the guest account on both. I tried doing simple file sharing which supposedly eliminates the need for this, but it doesn't. I have 2 home machines and one pro. I'm thinking of putting home on the pro soon. It's really annoying, plus pro doesn't offer anything I need.

As long as you put a password for the guest account, it should be secure enough.

My brother in law just came by and got it all working flawlessly. There's no way i could explain exactly waht he did but it has something to do with "net use" command @ the command prompt. If anyone is interested I can probably get a detailed explanation of it.

If you want to give it a shot malak I can try and walk you through it.
