Another "help me choose" post

Hey all,

So I've decided to upgrade from 1080p I'm really bad with monitor decisions so have turned to you guys for help.

Budget $400-$500 range, mostly for gaming off of an Nvidia 980ti. I'd also like to not go over 27" size.

Looking for good brightness and quality, 2560x1440.

I just don't know anything all the different panel types out there.
