I sold a user a motherboard/CPU combo for $40 through the FS/WTB forum here at AT.

We agreed on terms on April 6th, and I shipped on April 11th. On the 13 he emailed that he had gotten it, and wanted to test it before paying. I said fine, just let me know what you find. I didn't hear from him until the 18th, when I emailed to find out status and he said his wife was sick, etc, didn't have time to test it. I said fine, just get to it soon. I emailed a couple times in the next few days, and eventually told him on the 28, that since he wasn't replying to my emails that I was going to complain on here that he wasn't paying. On May 2nd he replied that he had sent a MO to the return address on the box. I said I never got it, he said he'd go check what address it went to. Didn't hear from him until the 10th, when I again told him I was getting tired of waiting. He said he'd go check if the MO had been cashed. On the 13th he finally said he'd added funds to his Paypal account and asked for my Paypal address for the 4th time (every time I had given it to him, i guess he forgot and didn't know how to look at old email).

So, on the 16th I finally got the Paypal. All in all, 33 days from when he got it to finally paying, and I'm confident I never would have gotten paid if I hadn't badgered him about it constantly.

Grounds for neutral or negative Heat? I'm thinking neutral.

Neutral, and explain it fully, since you DID get your money.
Post his username so the rest of us who use FS/FT can add him to our DNT list.

Negative in my book. It doesn't matter that he got his money, that was absolutely horrible communication on the buyer's part. You can only use the "my wife/kid/dog/grandma is sick excuse for so long". 33 days to get a freakin' payment.

If the buyer stated that he was going to test it and then flat out didn't not even attempt to respond to the seller, then that's just horrible trading practices. It seems as if the OP did all the initiating and would not have gotten his money if he hadn't persisted the matter.

Definitely a negative and explain how you had to always email him, and how it took 33 days for him to pay you.

Bad communication and 30+ days to send you your money after receiving the product.

I'd say neutral with explanation.

I have to think that if I leave a negative he'd do the same to me, even though there's no grounds for it. I've only got 3 ratings so far so I need to be careful about getting a negative...

I'll probly leave a neutral. He did pay even though, as I said, I'm sure I would never have gotten it if I hadn't demanded it.

If that happens you can send a PM to heat23 to get that removed since retalitory heat is against the rules.

That is why heat is 10000000000000000000000000x better then ebay!

People need to uphold the integrity of Heatware, even if that means giving a rating that is deserved. This is a negative, IMO.
