How do they keep finding these people? Like, it’s genuinely hard to find a 40-something blank slate lizard-skinned chameleon with a fungible bio that can hold up to basic scrutiny over a standard campaign period. Somehow Republicans found at least 3 in this Congress alone.

What is sickening is that Republicans will not punish this crap.

What is sickening to me is that the general electorate voted him into office. Democracy is supposed to be the political equivalent of what capitalism is supposed to be-where competition among parties with naturally conflicting positions results in the best results overall. Sadly it failed here.

Personally I lay at least equal blame on the opposing Democratic candidate here. There is tons of money floating around all federal level campaigns these days-maybe they should have spent some on opposition research and maybe, just maybe actually used the results.

You're onto something here ... it's everyone's fault. We're just a really really really stupid electorate so we get the reps we deserve. I fear that Idiocracy was more prescient than anyone really wants to admit.

It shows a couple things.

1) The death of independent local media
2) The unwillingness of partisans to critically evaluate people in their "tribe."

Oddly enough, I don't see the lying, molesting, grooming, pedophiles coming from the Dems.

I have a strong preference for Democrats. Not because it's part of my tribe, but because they are not lying, horrible people willing to pass legislation that fucks over the vast majority of Americans for personal gain.

Democrats tend to be much less tribal/partisan than republicans.

You can blame gerrymandering for this one, Davidson county ( Nashville) used to be totally in that district, then republicans gerrymandered it into 3 districts with heavily republican rural areas added. That district was reliably democrat until republicans “fixed” it.

Thing about this Luna lady is she hasn't grifted from the Republican political class. Yet.

If she bites the hand that feeds, she'll be shown the door.

I don't really know if it matters to the "conservative" folks who voted for her, but that kind of bad news would have shit canned a democrat post haste because of the hypocritical double standards the Republicans apply to themselves vs. their enemies. Trump and his 91 felony counts made him more popular with his partisan radicals and the rest of the party that simply follows along with them. On the flip side, the Republicans are desperately trying to pin any little thing they can find or dream up on Biden and blow it all up out of proportion because it's their skewed up fucked up principle of it all.

This because they have a need for nothing more than to seek revenge for Trump and retribution for the party that has been justifiably humiliated and shamed from hitching their wagons to a convicted rapist man child with a predilection for scandalizing himself into legal jeopardy time after time after time.

The GOP has no one to blame but themselves yet they can't do that because of their vengeful spite and hollowed out pride so what else can they do but point back to the folks who are merely holding up a mirror at them to show these Trump humpers what they're doing to themselves. Well, the part where the Democrats are snickering, guffawing and knee slapping while they're at it, OK that's on the Democrats but who could resist, right?

Well yeah but have you considered both sides are basically the same?

Don't you know - Republicans really care about ethics* - just look at the Atlanta DA/Trump indictment thread.
