Just got mine in today with some ASIII. Right now with no fan on it, the full load temp of my p3 750 is 38c. With my articooler with it's fan running at 2900 RPM, full load was 37c. Great heatsink. Gonna have to see what the temps are after the ASIII gets settled. SVC had a package deal for the GC68 & ASIII for under 19 without shipping. very well worth it.

Just a little update incase anyone is interested. Right now at full load, my p3 750 is 32c with a case temp of 28c. I have 1 exhaust fan, a thermally controlled Enermax. No intake. I've got the fan wired with a 47 ohm resistor to cut the little noise that it makes to make it completely silent. I'm going to be putting a smaller resistor in there later on. Don't want to slow the fan down too much.

So far, I'm extremely impressed with the GC68.

Very carefull. :D

It only uses one lug to engage the clip. No mounting holes. I would have liked it to have used all three lugs, but it's damn secure so I'm not complaining.

If the max temp under load was only 38C with no fan, then why not simply leave the fan off? I've been considering doing exactly that with my dual P3-866, if the temps are acceptable.

If temps aren't acceptable -- although they do seem to be, based upon your comments -- then I suppose I could use 2 of the 80mm Enermax adjustable fans at their lowest setting -- which would be only 10-12dBA per fan.

I was going to leave off the fan, but a failsafe is always nice. I know it would take a lot to burn up a p3, but at the moment, I can't risk the processor. It's my only one.

Not very good for keeping your case clean. The below-ambient pressure of the internals will suck in air from all those dangit holes in the case, and dust'll come rushing in.

If you add a fan with a CFM rating higher than the total combined exhaust CFM, the air will exit out the small holes. If you put a filter in FRONT (NOT BEHIND!!!) of the fan, theoretically (and assuming the filter catches everything) the dust intake should be nil.
