To start off I would like to say high as it's only second post. I hail from Australia which is where I live but I have decided to have a dig at building a computer because I am sick of the computer I have which is to embarrassing to tell you anything about. I'm no idiot but I am no expert. I am still in school but I am almost done. I like to play games in my spare time but I really am into multimedia like photoshop and listening to tunes. I have a fairly tight budget at around 500 big ones (Australian Dollars) for just the system not the keyboard mouse etc. Anything above would be pushing it a bit far.

What I want is something that will play games with ease but I am not a hardcore gamer. Being able to play MW2 would be great even if it plays it reasonably well. I am also after something that's still powerful. I had a shot at building one but came into many problems particularly the money side of things. This is what I got.

Thermaltake V3 Black Edition With 450W PSU $79.00
Kingston 2GB DDR3-1333MHZ $59.00
AMD Phenom II 550 DualCore 3.1GHz 7MB CACHE 80W BLACK ED $106.00
Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P AMD770/SB700 chipset/DDR3 1600 $106.50

NOTE: I'll explain, the case comes with a PSU so it saves me money and the case it quite cheap. The RAM is very basic and not much of it. The CPU and MOBO are the most annoying parts of this. They are both picked out because they are good but they also are supposed to let me unlock the CPU into a quad which supposedly works all the time with these two. I don't want to risk it and I am scared of wasting money for something that I don't want. I previously picked a 500GB hdd and a PSU but I have some old hard drives that I could use to save money and the case comes with PSU. I have a dvd/cd drive from an old pc as well which is alright. The graphics card well I won't bother it'd be too confusing.

Sorry for the long post but I want to be specific so you understand the position I am in. It'd be great if you could answer the basics like AMD or Intel but it would be even better if you could recommend individual parts. The last thing I would say is that I plan to keep upgrading this pc so if i can get parts that can withstand future upgrades then that'd be great!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

BANG FOR THE BUCK!!

Afraid to ask, but which Thermaltake 450W power supply was included with that case?

Unlocking stable cores is never guaranteed. Some chips may get 1, some chips may get 2. But there will always be the occasional dud which gets none.

Not sure can't really say but I can't imagine it being the greatest.

Yeah that's why I don't want to risk it. Thanks

Also http://www.umart.com.au/newindex2.phtml?bid=2 is the place where I plan on buying most of my stuff because it's good price and it is local.

The main thing I want is something that's fairly powerful that I can upgrade easily in the future.
