Another FFB trade...tough one

Brad Johnson and Duece McAllister (currently theirs)

for

Donovan McNabb and Tony Gonzalez (mine)

Ok, I could use another good running back, and McAllister is really tempting. McNabb is a great QB, and would be hard to let him go. That would leave me with Maddox and Johnson if I traded. I have an ok backup TE, but its standard Yahoo scoring, so its heavily yard / td based scoring. Help!

I'd do it. Deuce is a stud RB... and Rb's are the basis for any good fantasy team.

Johnson and Maddox are both quality QBs (maddox should have a very nice season).

Gonzalez if healthy should get 1000 yd and 6-7 TDS.

There isn't another TE that will get that except perhaps shockey.

Mcnabb is a better QB then Johnson IMO

I would not do it.

Thought that said duece staley 😉

But the saints OL is a little suspect so even the the other duece could be a risk

in most leagues a Good TE is more valuable than a GREAT RB.

Heres my reasoning for that. Duece will be in the same scoring class with mb 15 RB. Tony Gonzalez will be in a class of like 3 or 4 TE for scoring.

i'd rather have a Top 3 TE and a #15 RB than a Top 3 RB and a #15 TE.

I'm with you on this point. As long as you have a half way decent RB who can score and have good yards, a TE is important because he'll bring on those extra points that most teams you face wont. It's like having an extra WR/RB on your team.

I've never seen anyone win a Fantasy Football league WITHOUT a Top 3 TE. it JUST doesn't happen. Gonzo and Shockey are in that class, they can make a difference singlehandedly, Like Sharpe did back in the day.

i have BOTH todd heap and Shockey on one team.

I have Curtis Martin and Portis Clinton, so yeah, I guess I'm going to have to reject this one. Platinum Gold makes a good point about the TE position. Thanks for the help.
