Seeing has how the rest of the civilized world more or less agrees with him, the question is often asked, is our children learning? I mean, the question is, who is being dense? Perhaps neither and we're just facing a difference of opinion.

I would quibble with the "free" part though, I assume he meant the govt pays, i.e. taxes from some source are marked to cover it.
