Another Failed ESA Spacecraft Landing?

First there was the Beagle, then there was the Rosetta lander and now this:

The TGO has entered orbit as planned but contact from the Schiaparelli lander was lost shortly after it deployed its parachute. They are still assessing the situation. Hoping for the best.

That's disappointing. The landing site is close to the Opportunity rover who attempted to take pictures of the spacecraft as it was landing. I wonder if they could use Opportunity to go see where Schiaparelli landed?
