Hello all, im relatively new to eBay and sold my first item about a week ago with great results. I am now listing my second item, when i get a question posted that says this:

Hello seller, I'm maria citi bank staff in usa with ID#56/78654 /05 am interetsed in the immediate purchase of your item which is urgently needed . i'll be making payment for this item via western union online auction payment.Am ready to pay $400.00 including posting but you can come out with your final pricing , i would like you to ship out the item via post office as soon as you recieve the approval notification of my payment from western union .Just to let you know that am sending this item to my son schooling abroad in Africa as a replacement for a damaged one and i'll love the item to get to there without delay at all. Thanks i'll like to hear from you if interested

my response: I Was curious to why ur profile lists you as from singapore?

now i have gotten an email back about 20 minutes later that says this:

i just came back from leave i travel to singapore that is when i open the id am a us citizen, and i work in usa any problem?
in regard to your item i need it for my son back in school so what's up with it?

No. I ship stuff to princes in nigeria all the time. They are very honorable.

edit: Western Union + Africa + conflicting information = scam IMO

Western Union is still a very secure way to RECIEVE money though, once you have it in your hands they can't get it back.

However, in this case I think it's likely that the OP will either recieve a fake confirmation email from WU Online or a fake money order.

Tell him he doesn't even know how to spell the company he works for:

It's Citibank, not Citi bank.

HAHAHA... total scam...

So far I have dealt with (not taken either time - realized it and called the proper people) the Nigerian scam and the Argentinian scam...

I'm not selling on ebay worldwide anymore... too much crap.
