Another Driving Story

So i just dropped off my time sheet and pulled up to a stop sign waiting to get onto the main road so that I could get onto the freeway. This truck is behind me also while I am waiting for traffic to clear so I could pull out. The guy behind me starts honking like crazy, but I can't get out because there is still traffic. So as soon as traffic clears I pull out and the guy behind me is HELLA pissed and tries to speed up past me. I am pretty ticked off because I didn't do anything wrong so I change lanes so he can't pass me. He changes lanes again and I do the same. I decide that I probably pissed him off enough so I just start cruising and he pulls up beside me and sticks half his body out the window to curse at me. So I slow all to a turltle like 25mph and just stare at him as he yells and curses at me while trying to drive. I just look at him and laugh. Then he falls behind because we run into traffic. I watch as he tries to catch up. This whole entire time I am not speeding, I am just cruising, probably 5 mph below the speed limit. He then decides to drive on the shoulder of the road and cut everyone off including me. He speeds off and almost hits a bunch of cars because he doesn't realize it's a merger and I take an exit to go home. I am typically a defensive driver so I don't speed, tail gate, I let people merge in, etc. Okay, flame away for me feeding the fire.


Cliffs:
-Guy has road rage when I didn't jump into a stream of traffic and he had to wait.
-Decided to piss him off even more on an empty road
-We run into traffic and he drives on side of road to cut off everyone and almost runs into other cars during a merger
-I got onto the freeway after he cut me off because I was going home.
 
So you goaded him into further road rage in hopes that he'd run into an embankment and die?
Kudos, I say, right on, brother.

I won't really flame but the above actions are why we read about people getting shot and killed during road rage incidents. I've come to just look straight ahead and mind my own business when someone is pissed off at me in traffic. I don't want to be the shooting victim of some guy who just lost his job, found out his wife screwed his best friend or worse, when a insignificant traffic situation is the straw that broke the camel's back.

 
Yeah, my gf yelled at me for doing that because he could have had a gun. But, man it just really got on my nerves that day. Won't do again. Scouts honor. 🙂
 
Your stooopid butt is still with us because this guy didn't have his gun with him. Too bad, cause if he had his gun then this stoooopid rant wouldn't be here.

bravo! You did the right thing! Next time though, insult his family members directly too, but make sure he has an NRA sticker on his truck first. NRA stickers mean they're peaceniks and will shower you with love and understanding!

Do you really think the freeway/roadrage shooters were NRA members?

Why?

How many drive-by killings are committed by NRA members? How about violent drug dealers and gangbangers? Are they NRA members too?
 
yeah you may become a victim of the latest road rage accident, but people who go crazy on others deserve it
i do the same, i honk, i try to get slow drivers out of the fast lane, but i NEVER will curse, flip the bird (well not anymore unless i get real pissed) or try to pull some dangerous stunt like driving on the shoulder or overtake a bunch of cars.

i dont pull what you did anymore ,half the time they would pass me and then i end up in front of him again when we hit more traffic, but when i did that a few years ago, this idiot started throwing pennies at my car from behind when we ran into traffic. also another time a guy ran a stop sign while turning into traffic and i wouldn't let him so he got out of the car and asked me to fight him, needless to say, i was amused, because I could've ran him over right there and then and would not have been arrested because he's the one who provoked me and got out of the car.

I personally have never seen roadrage reports except for that guy who threw a ladies dog onto the freeway after getting into an argument. Eitherway, I am aware of the pending danger. I am also pretty sure that crap doesn't happen as often as the news tries to imply it does.

I started giving people a thumbs-up whenever they do something stupid or honk at me for no reason. Being nice to them generally just pisses them off more. o=D
