No one answered last time, so here's a repost. For my new system, there will be three drives:
Maxtor 40gb 7200rpm
Maxtor 80gb 5400rpm
TDK Velocd
How should I configure them? I heard that only one device on an ide channel can be accessed at one time. So if I move a lot of information back and forth between my two Maxtors, they should be on different channels am I right? But then that would create a slow down if I'm burning from a drive on the same channel as the burner.
1) Maxtor 40gb: First channel MASTER
Maxtor 80gb: Secondary channel SLAVE
TDK Velocd: Secondary channel MASTER
2) Maxtor 40gb: First channel MASTER
Maxtor 80gb: Secondary channel MASTER
TDK Velocd: Secondary channel SLAVE
3) Maxtor 40gb: First channel MASTER
Maxtor 80gb: First channel SLAVE
TDK Velocd: Secondary channel MASTER
4) Maxtor 40gb: First channel MASTER
Maxtor 80gb: Secondary channel MASTER
TDK Velocd: First channel SLAVE
I'm guessing option 1 or 2 right?
