Another Dilema

A friend wanted me to find the best notebook $675 would buy (w/out tax).

I have two configs right now:

Dell Inspiron B130
Intel Pentium M 1.7 Ghz
1 GB 400 MHz
40 GB 5400 RPM (IDE?)

Dell Inspiron E1505
Intel Core Solo 1.86 GHz
512 MB 533 MHz
60 GB SATA 5400 RPM

I don't know much about the Core Solo, but most reviews put it below the Pentium M, which I found hard to believe.

My thought on the E1505 is that it has a nicer screen, looks better physically, and has faster FSB. The memory can easily be upgraded to 1 GB in a few months.

Any thoughts?
Thanks 😀

The CPU on the E1505 can also be upgraded to a core duo. I don't know if they batt + voltage regulators + cooling can handle it though.

I did check into the Core Duos, but that brought the price up at least $100. I always do encourage "customers" to spend a little extra and get a better computer, but $675 is tops.
