AFAIK the new Canon A60/A70 can record up to 3 minutes of video and they use cheap and widely available CF media.

For the 200th time, get the A60 or A70.

Get 2.0MP if you rarely intend on printing 8x10 photo's.

Get 3.0MP if you actually intend on printing 8x10 photo's.

Are you paid by Canon. ;)

Actually I think he is. ;)

I like advice from people that actually have used the product they promote.

Oh he has (at least the A40. which the A60/70 replaced). If Canon pays him, they're bound to show him the product first. I too can vouch for the A70. Awesome camera.

I vote for the Olympus C720 because I have one and it takes great pics.

just think of it this way. the bigger the picture the bigger the megapixel. so you want to make a large photo print or something then get a higher mp. but if you are not gonna start printing photos or whatnot then mp is one of the last things to worry about. you should be thinking about quality of the camera, does it take photos well in this light and that light, how fast does it write to the CF card, warranty, reliability, popularity, any incompatibilities with certain cards, battery life, etc etc

Only if the aspect ratio is 4:3.

Uh... yeah? It is. Just like most digital cameras, the Canons are designed to fit a computer monitor's aspect ratio rather than the standard print size aspect ratio (3:2).

I wish Canon paid me ... I'd be rolling in dough, but nope they don't pay me :(

They'd be embarassed to have me as a spokesperson though.

Can anyone guess why?

You own Canon cameras but don't use them?

Good responses yall.... I still have to chew on the choice though.... Hmmm A60 or A70 Hmmmmmm..

This is ironic - the first time in a long time I have a good wad of cash to blow on whatever I want and now I can't decide....
