We have posted a message asking about this. If he only has a couple of them, it is ok.

You are pretty quick to jump the gun there. Just because he said "I have more than one available" does not make him a dealer. You may be right, but if I were to sell three hard drives does that make me a dealer?

Yeh, he could only have 2 of them. He doesn't exactly come right out and say. Although it is kind of suspicious... by not telling how many he has it leaves a lot to interpret on. And it's brand new factory sealed... Why buy "more than one" and never open/use them?

I'm in agreement with Asuka. Com'on, you have to admit all of the tell-tale signs are there:

(1) unopened, "Brand New Factory Sealed"
(2) having more than one
(3) big ticket item

Not a lot of people shell out $5800+ without the intent of recouping that either through use or resell. As for your hard drives: if you bought them with no intention of using them personally and turn around and sell them for an almost new price (when in reality, you picked them up for a lot less due to a rebate, pricematch, retailer "oops", etc. thanks to the hot deals forum), then yeah, I'd call you a dealer.

That last thing is something I'm seeing a lot more of lately and would personally like to see FS/FT rules say something about UPC bandits and otherwise using FS/FT as the reseller grounds for Hot Deals booty.

hows it going tenchim...imo upc bandits arent too bad because ppl in fs/ft still get a good deal on something they wouldnt normally get outside just not as great as the hotdeal. and usually the hotdeals require 1 or more rebates, so the bandit is usually taking the risk of that rebate coming through...so theres a little bit of benefit for both parties...my .02
