Hardware will die or go faulty sooner or later, not many people can say they never had a hardware failure over the years.

That is true.
However, statistics are interesting too. ......

What really matters is how a company addresses a problem. Do they make you jump through hoops and make you wait and make you sorry you ever bought their product, or do they do an excellent job in addressing your issue and resolving it?

How's Seasonic's support? They make great PSUs, not sure about their support though.

Seasonic's support is exceptional.

Antec offers good support also. That is why I always tell people to contact them when they have a problem with one of their products.

Its because reporting a bad PSU....especially if it's Antec ...is the current habit on some forums. I'm not doubting some of their lines are bad or cheap ...and I promise if mine dies I will recant... but I don't see how it is any different that other brands of PSU fail every day.

I had a 500W TruePower die on me *just* inside the warranty. Exchanged it, sold the replacement, bought a Fortron (or was it a Sparkle?).

Overall, Antec's have been fine. Still, for my main machine I like the better brands.

Antec have a very good customer support.
Go to their web site and click on support and online support and send them a message and explain exactly what happened. See what they say.

I strongly disagree with this. My Antec power supply died almost a month ago now and I'm still waiting on my replacement to be shipped. I emailed them a couple days ago and they said they're out of sp 400's and that I'm now "in priority" to get one now that I emailed them. Come on Antec, send me another model! Fortunately, I quickly bought an Enhance PSU shortly after that one failed so I haven't been out a computer this last month.

PM AntecCSR about this, or look up his email in his profile.

Yes-- contact AntecCSR. I have heard various things about Antec customer service both good and bad.

I will do that tonight.

I'm not one to swear off an entire company on one experience. However, I will not use another one of their PSUs unless I find out they have changed their crappy cap ways. I do really like their cases, though, so they're not liable to lose me as a customer in that respect anytime soon.
