Fair enough. The only reason this is news is because the woman is a teacher. I'm not sure how I feel about that in and of itself. These cases aren't purported as the woman abusing her position of power though, everyone focuses on the sexual nature of things.

IMO Everyone has their sexuality shaped by their first experience with the sex world, if this was his, then he may spend the rest of his life looking for authoritative older women, is that a good or bad thing? Neither, but I don't think this woman had the right to shape his life in that way.

You're right it is far to subjective to just stick an age on things and say, from here it's OK for all, things aren't that absolute, but when it comes to figures of authority there needs to be boundaries, I'm fine with two 14 year olds having sex with each other, but with a 30 year old who has had much more experience, it will be a different "type" of sex, rather than young inexperienced learning about the world with your partner sex it will be one dominant adult showing a child sex as they know it. That I'm not all for.

You are assuming that this was actual abuse, rather than "abuse" only by the legal definition of it. It is entirely possible that the student was the sexual aggressor here.
