so if i understand this there was an ATV pulling a car hood behind it on which another kid was riding, like a sled, and the kid being towed hit a tree and died?

Yeah that appears the story....

Not that that wouldn't be fun...just like waterskiing....you need to avoid poles and rocks though.

I for one feel sorry for the kid and the family. We used to ride on an old car hood and sleds as we pulled them behind cars/ATVs/Tractors etc. They were just trying to have some fun and had an accident. It pisses me off that whenever somebody has an accident poeple come here and post how stupid that person was for dying. Have a little compassion. Everybody doesn't sit around and play on their computer all day like some of you people. Also, some people like fun (although sometimes dangerous) activities b/c....well they are fun. According to some of you people should just sit around with helmets and full body armor on and wait to die of old age.....it's sad really.

I see nothing stupid with that activity... the hood of a car, turned over, is a perfect sled. And, they used a chain to pull it... what else could they have used? Silly string?
