Another "Case Suggestions?" Thread

I'm getting tired of my current case, so I figured it's time to move on. I decided that I should finally move up a little bit in the world and buy a good case... I have finally recognized that these $50 cases don't cut it. Be that as it may, I still don't want to spend more than $100; $120 tops. I'm looking for an aluminum case, because I'm tired of caryin around my behemoth to lan parties. I also need room for six harddrives, and one floppy... I've tried to do my research online, and from what I can tell, this has pretty much narrowed down my search to the Lian Li PC-60 series.

Are there any other cases that might suit me in this price range?

Also, I can't really notice any big differences between the different PC-6x's on the Lian Li website... From what I can tell, the PC-61 is the same as the PC-60 but black, and the PC-65 has a window. Are there any other differences?

personally, for lanning, i'd recommend you the super lanboy or the sonata. they should be able to support all your harddrives and a floppy. these 2 are my current favorite cases.

If I was going to lan parties on a regular or even semi regular basis, I would build a small form factor PC just for donig that, and leave the desktop case at home.

I don't like the looks of the lanboy, and I prefer an aluminum case, which rules out the sonata.

I really wish this was a viable option for me, but my desktop needs upgrading and I can't do both at the moment 🙂

while i cant comment from experience, the pc-60 is a great case from what ive heard. im building a rig in the next month and i plan to build it in that one. out of all the other cases ive looked at none can really compare to the pc-60 as far as features are concerned.

screw lan parties. real computer geeks are afraid to meet other people in-person 😛 jk

just a point of advice, though... if you're going to be carrying the case around to lan parties frequently, consider getting a silver case. aluminum tends to scratch pretty easily, and the scratches are much more noticable on a black case.

ya another vote for super lanboy, gotta love the onboard tool case and the carry strap will make it nice to bring 2 lan's

I ordered the PC-60 this morning, thanks guys. I chose it over the super lan boy because I already have a carrying strap and the lanboy can't quite fit all of my 3.5" stuff. I know I could mount them in the 5.25" slots, but it's just my preference not to.
