That you're a fatty? IDK

This is how they do it, it isn't something that you can do on your own, and just feel around for. The femoral artery is very deep in the leg, the spot they thread for is deep inside the inner thigh for threading the catheter into for drawing blood or putting IV fluids and medicines into. It is done under anesthesia and it is generally done by a doctor who has experience because if it is done wrong the patient can bleed out, or they can cause an embolism all sorts of bad things can happen, like blood gases building up. This isn't a regular vein. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tllYUA_pWhU

Your comment about you could do this yourself is amusing, it really is...

Really? I guess YMMV if you're not a professional. I can see mine in my ankles, wrists, legs, forearms ...always have. If I sit still, I can count my pulse.

Where did they stick you when the great fungus was trying to eat you?

oh i can see mine in my ankles/feet, and in my bends of my elbows, but just not in the inner thigh..

ya know i dunno where they had the IV at first, probably was my femoral, they kept me anesthetized for the first two weeks (when i was in the ICU) so i dont remember

when i was in the burn ward later they used the bend in my elbows....

heh in the middle of the night every night they would come around to do bloodwork, and i would always get the nurse to let me stick myself :)

Capital punishment is barbaric, but that doesn't matter to barbarians, apparently.

The deeds of the perp are immaterial to that judgment.

The incredible expense involved in execution deters the truly rational from condoning it at all, but barbarians aren't exactly rational anyway.

Lots of other more constructive ways to spend the money while the perp lives out his days in lockup, away from the rest of us. Or is no price too steep to pay for vengeance?

There are people who deserve to die, and I believe that the State should have the right to execute these people. If it's a worry of not making them suffer "cruel and unusual punishment", forcibly OD them on heroin and let them bliss out to death. To me, the point isn't in how they die, but that they do die.

Because they couldn't find them. Had a GF that worked for the VA. She'd stick patients in the fingers (only veins available), while she was wearing gloves. Amazing.

Glad you're doing well. Hope the Fam is also. I have some friends that have turned their lives around and some that haven't been able to. Makes me sad.

Just dismember him via vacuum suction. Good enough for a fetus, good enough for a convict.

Assuming the circumstances/case are as presented...20 years on the upside after a double murder, 2 hours on the down. 2hrs / 175200hrs...more than fair for the killer.
This.

So the guy slept for two hours before his heart stopped? That doesn't seem all that horrible to me.
Agreed. It sounds like me when my CPAP mask gets crooked.

What is a botched execution anyway? If he is suppose to die, just keeping trying till he is dead.
lol Yep. Now if he was living it up in Thailand with a ladyboy and free mai tais, THAT would be a botched execution.

That's, um, quite high on the list of things most people DON'T have to be told, dude.

And you've just demonstrated the same lack of humanity as the killer.

Nice one, Matt.
Failure to empathize with a convicted double murderer who took two hours to die in his sleep after twenty years of appeals is somehow "the same lack of humanity" as committing a double murder?

Nice one, indeed.
