Alright, I'll make this as short and sweet as is possible. Need to build a system on a budget. This will be my second build ever, and the first time I had help. I'm going to use as many parts from my current system as possible. So i'll already have all my peripherals squared away, plus:

Two PATA HD's
1 GB (512x2) Kingston HyperX PC3200
Antec True430 PSU (not the new series, old version)
Burner Drive
DVD Drive
Floppy (Still havent figured a use for one of these yet, har)

I'll definatly be needing:
Video Card
Motherboard
Processor
Case
Processor Fan

I need to keep this as cheap as possible, but trust me anything will be an improvement. I'm think staing under $600 total in all will be my bottom line. Here is what I've come up with after a bit of research:

Mobo:
Chaintech VN84 Ultra or...
ASUS A8N5X

Reasoning... Chaintech, cheap, pure and simple. Asus, known for reliability. I'm not really too keen to overclock, I live in an apartment that gets really hot in the summer and I've had heat issues, nor do I really want to spend the time to tweak that much to get a stable overclock at this point. I just need a good and stable mobo. I was also considering Epoc, but 8RDA+ gave me a lot of problems, but their reputation is so good... algo Gigabyte, a friend of mine swaers by their mobos. Other suggestions?

Processor:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+

Reasoning... A definate improvement over my AMD Athlon XP 2100+ T-bred. Best chip for the money. The next step up is $40-50.

Video Card:
XFX Nvidia 6800GS or...
Connect3D X800GTO
Sapphire X800GTO 2

Reasoning... Nvidia: definate performance for BF2 which is a game I love, despite is bugs. Nvidia cards also seem to run that game faster. ATI's: if that mod works it could be faster and cheaper than the 6800GS, just not sure I have the skills to do this mod correctly.

Case:
Aspire X-Sonic

Reasoning... aluminum, lots of airflow, cheap. Nuff said.

Also need some suggestions for a processor cooler, as I said, need to keep this thing breathing in the warm months.

I may apprently need a new PSU too because of this older Antec True430 lacking the sual rails, what do you think?

As I said earlier my bottom line is: Need the components I've listed for under $600 US. Need good cooling. Need more performance over my Nforce2 2100+ Radeon 9500 PRO setup.

Thanks in advance.

3200+ sounds good
i'd go with the 6800gs. even with the ATIs unlocked, i'm 90% sure the gs is still faster
mobo: the ASRock is pretty good imo
