Another best buy story

in jist with the other best buy story this is not as bad.

i went up to the register to purchase a creative nomad zen extra. she rings it up, then all of a sudden she trys to get me to purchase the extended warrenty for it. i was like i dont want it, and she goes into the whole thing of why its good to get then she starts telling me that i cant replace the battery on the mp3 player and everything. im sitting there thinking in my head she needs to learn to read the box, right on the box it says removable battery, i final said no, she like why. i said i wont break it. then she tells me so more stuff.

not as exciting as the other story but it was my recent encounter with best buy.

If the warranty in the states is the same as up here its well worth it on mp3 players.
I break the headphones every couple months anyways, let them exchange it all the time. Radio shack used to be especialy gd at this.
Last time i checked mp3s were an exchange item, you say it sounds different and worse they exchange a new one for you. Dont have the tiny 64 you bought? O well they give you a 128.
Its all in how you use it.

I've never had this happen. Sounds like you need to be more assertive.

I'm a little rude about it. I cut them off before they even finish their first line and say, "I never buy extended warranties and I wont be buying one today, thank you.

A LONG time ago, I found that if you listen to ANY salesman, and sound wishy washy in declining the offer, they take this as a maybe and keep pushing.

You have to let them know they are wasting their time.
