Bee Gee Maurice Gibb died in hospital on Sunday, his family said.

This is breaking news on CNN. Why is this such important news? He was a guy in a band.

Does anyone remember someone saying the best part of the 80's was getting rid of one of the Bee Gees? Something like 1 down, 3 to go.
 
Denis Leary enjoyed using that line... I guess now it is 2 down, 2 to go... I guess that is kinda mean. 😉

Andy Gibb died in the 80's - he was a solo artist, he wasn't part of the Bee Gees... but yes, that joke did come up after he died, and it could have been biting IF he had been an actual member of the group

We certainly heard enough about Aaliyah's death, and it's not like she was a major celebrity or anything (though admittedly she had slightly more talent than Britney, but not enough to be measurable).

This is the first Bee Gee to die, the other guy was their brother, but he wasn't a Bee Gee. The other remaining Bee Gees are Barry and Robin (Maurice's twin). I watch VH1 sometimes... lol

Actually, any news that is just unfolding is considered breaking. How important it is to the rest of the world doesn't really matter. 🙂

Anyway, I never really liked the band, but I'm sorry to see him pass on.
