Besides the mobiles, this has got to be on of the best CPUs ever. I can make it to 2.35, but I want to run it at 2.2 for a while to make sure its stable. This kind of topic is like beating a dead horse, but good grief, its crazy. All stuffed into a Antec Aria case. Running 44C as I type. Can't beat it with a stick. WARNING. The Thermaltake Silent Boost HS/F does NOT fit in the Aria!!! Had to do some ugly mods to get it in there. Works good, and quieter than many other high end HS/F but not as quiet as I'd like... Just thought I'd share...

xp1800@2.2ghz with stock voltage of 1.55 runs at 41C under load using Tt volcano 12 on low, so its not the best chip just a realy good one

It probably will!
my Barton 2500 was not a champ at overclocking, but most were!
my friends system consists of an A7N8X-E and a Barton 2500.. for some reason, after NEVER touching the BIOS, the board was running at 400MHz FSB, running the CPU at 2.2 GHz.... he never even knew cause it was rock solid.. great CPU :)

My personal favs are the 1700+ at 2.4GHz, and the 2.4A at 3.6GHz.

The zalman 7000 series fit most mobo's in the aria if you're looking for better cooling.

My 1700+ is actually running at 2.17Ghz right now.

My 1700 Ran all day long at 2.4GHz and it still had room left I was just RAM limited at 192Mhzwithsome old PC2100 I had kicking around.

okay guys, pls tell me which steppings you have? 2.4 or even 2.5Ghz on air cooling in my shuttle sounds scrumptious. my pc3500 hyperX cas2 should be able to handle it ;)

note that the 1700+ at 2.4ghz is only equivalent to a barton 2800+, but still, that is an amazing overclock.

Umm, I don't think so. 1700+ at 2.4ghz is FASTER than Barton 3200+. The extra 256mb cache on the Barton gives it about 100mhz advantage compared to same mhz Tbred. So 1700+ at 2.4ghz is about the same speed as Barton @ 2.3ghz or ~Barton 3400-3500+.

for me, an overclock at stock voltage does almost nothing to the temps...i found only 1-2C separting stock vs 2.2ghz for me.

Best Barton 2500+ I've come across did 2.27Ghz stock voltage, prime95 24h stable.

Worst? I'd say around 2.05Ghz stock.
