Another Audio Question

Does anyone know if Macintosh has a web site? (NOT APPLE!!!) they make amps and preamps and such that use Tubes and not transistors

i tried google but all i get is stuff about Apple computers and such

god dam i forgot how espensive these things were

i was just looking, my dad needs (read WANTS) a new amp and he wants a tube one because they sound better, he has an old Mcintoch amp+preamp & tuner but its only 50wx2 and 30 years old, still works geeat he has it in his office, i was just looking at prices of an amp that would do 150-250wx2, his magnapans could use that power increase, i think they are getting 75w now from a Harmen Kardon receiver

Solid tubes for me, only solid ones will do.

And yes, McIntosh has some great stuff (and it's not all just tube-based anymore, mind you)...we were thinking about bringing them in, but a competitor down the street already carries them, and there isn't enough demand for that stuff. So now we just wait to bring back Levinson. 😀

Good luck to your dad...tubes and Maggies can be really great. The wattage rating out of a tube amp will mean very different things than a normal SS one. Let's all say "Conrad-Johnson". 😀

edit: THat first line was a joke, BTW...
