Another Audigy 2 ZS sound problem

In almost any app, there will be random episodes of the sound screeching, pops, squeaks etc., then will resume play after 5-10 sec. Raises hell with online racing! I've reinstalled, have updated drivers. Reading creative.uk forums reveals that many people are haveing lockup problems, with not a lot of solutions.

Anyone with something I might be able to do to "fix" fhis?

You can play musical pci slots with it and see if that fixes it. I'd remove as much creative bloatware as possible from the system too. BTW, how are your room and case temps? good case cooling? I've experienced similar issues with audio chip overheating so that is another potential culprit to investigate.
