Another attempted hijacking

Just got this from a friend in the news industry:

<< A man had to be restrained early Thursday morning after trying to force his way into a cockpit on a United Airlines flight from Miami to Argentina, a spokesman for the airline said.
According to spokesman Joe Hopkins, a passenger on the United Flight 855 was restrained by flight attendants after he became unruly and tried to enter the cockpit.
Hopkins said the plane continued to Buenos Aires without incident the man, a Uruguayan citizen, was turned over to Argentine police.

There is no way that we could train that many sspecial forces guys. Its also completely unecessary. All you need is a good door.

putting an armed agent in every plane? i don't think we have enough agents to go around.
it'd be too expensive

training pilots in deadly combat would be more ideal... since we obviously have pilots in every plane already.
or better yet... flight attendents, since they do interact with passengers and thus, can be the first line of defense.

we can not rely on random passengers everytime attempted hijacking happens....

A man has been detained after trying to enter the cockpit of a United Airlines flight from Miami to Buenos Aires.
The man, said to be a Uruguayan national, was overpowered by crew members after an exchange of blows, Argentine air force spokesman Jorge Reta said.

He was taken into custody by the Argentine authorities on arrival at Buenos Aires Ezeiza international airport and given medical care, officials said.

United Airlines said it had notified the local authorities and the FBI about the incident, adding that flights to and from Buenos Aires would continue as scheduled.

Two hijacked United Airlines planes were among four aircraft involved in the 11 September attacks on the United States.

Flight 175 crashed into the south tower of the World Trade Center in New York while flight 93 came down in a rural area of Pennsylvania.

This has needed to stop for many years, but it won't - it'll keep right on going. Maybe everyone on the plane should be called Marshal.

I think it's premature to call this a hi-jacking, he tried to enter the cockpit, not good, but not necessarily a hi-jacking.

Maybe what needs to stop is the damn pilots opening the cockpit door.
Let the guy kick it all he wants ... just don't open the door.
