I hate the misleading statements that Apple continually makes in their commercials. This new one has the "PC Cheerleaders" and they state that Mac is the #1 laptop on college campuses.
To someone who doesn't put two seconds thought into it it would seem like they are saying that there are more Macs than PCs on college campuses, but that is really not the case (not by far). For instance (completely made up numbers here):
Laptop:
Sony (PC): 10%
Dell (PC): 18%
HP (PC): 15%
IBM/Lenovo(PC): 10%
Other PC (PC): 27%
Apple (Mac): 20%
PC: 80%
Mac: 20%
While they may have the highest percentage of any of the brands of laptops, they are still way behind on the OS market share, which is not what their ad is implying. I'm not knocking the Apple products here, in fact my next laptop will almost certainly be a Macbook, I just can't stand their misleading ads.
