Age Old Question?

I have no idea what you're talking about. What are Bratts and Metts?

You don't know what a Bratt or Mett is? You must be from some weird bean sprout eating place like California or something. Hell, I am so shocked......I refuse to tell you!!!!

O.K. it must be a midwest thing......you take all of the leftover parts of meat that were not acceptable for Hot Dogs or Bologna........

No really, they are forms of bun sized sausage with uniquely different tastes. We grill four major foods here in Cincinnati.......Bratts, Metts, Chicken, and Burgers. Then you have your Hot Dogs and Steak and Pork, etc. No grill out is complete without Bratts or Metts. My God, is this unique to Cincinnati? Surely someone from Chicago or Wisconsin has also had these. Guess you have never had Goetta either?

Goetta? I have no idea what that is. So bratt is bratwurst. I've heard of this. I just moved to the midwest, and I'm trying to pick up as little of the culture here as possible, as I want to move desperately :) My roomate mentioned bratwust, and I asked him what it was. Guess that was about a week ago.

Mettwurst, once again no idea. Which one's spicier?

I did try kiel basa (sp) for the first time about a month ago. It was turkey, and pretty good.

See, these are the things I'm looking for when I ask the people here if Indiana has any food, or music, or culture of it's own. They just shrug. God I hate this place ;)

I miss po-boys and crawfish. Gumbo, ettouffe (sp), pecan pie. Jambalaya. Here they have corn.

Thanks for the info though. I thought you were playing a little joke. lol
