I was talking with my g/f last night about how I refused to watch the 80s show and decided to watch Star Trek instead. Well we of course started talking about the past and I suddenly remember MacGyver. That had to have been my favorite show on TV at the time. Now, I know I am not the only person who feels this way so why isn't it in syndication?

because the actor who played McGyver has a current TV show, most shows aren't put into syndication until the actors are retired from TV, aside from the occasional guest spot

I thought MacGyver was in syndication? I know I've seen it on TBS or TNT or one of those superstations several times recently (on weekday afternoons).

Cheers has been in syndication for a long time even though Kelsey Gramer has had a show for 10 years or so.

Yeah I see it on all the time (it's on locally here and on WGN or TBS I think.) And I've never heard anything like what fatalbert said. I don't think an actor still be active has a thing to do with whether or not a show goes into syndication. Kelsy Grammar(sp?) still has Frasier going, but you can catch reruns of that show AND Cheers in nearly all of the top TV markets.

Not real sure what you mean. There are multiple examples of syndicated shows that run concurrently with newly produced weekly episodes. Maybe I just read your comment wrong.

Perhaps you should take the paperclip on your desk, the gum you are chewing, and your watch battery and make a phone so you can call the networks and request the reruns. ;)

YES! Airwolf was great. Right up there with Kitt from Knight Rider.
