Another 2007WFP problem

When exiting certain 3D games (Far Cry, Fear) but not others (Oblivion, Galactic Civ 2), my 2007WFP goes haywire. It appears to repeatedly try to initialize the DVI input... what will happen is, the game will close, I will see the desktop, the screen blinks off, and then blinks back on with the DVI-D icon in the upper left. Moving the mouse, clicking windows etc. is extremely laggy, almost like the signal from the VGA card isn't getting to the monitor instantly. Then this repeats about every 5 sec., and the system is unusable except for a restart.

I currently have two 2007WFPs since Dell shipped me a replacement to eliminate the banding.. yeah right. Both 2007WFPs do this on DVI. I went back to my 2001FP and the problem does not present itself exiting Fear or Far Cry. Using the 84.21 WHQL Forceware... I'd thought it was the fault of the Tweaksrus 84.56 drivers, but a clean reinstall back to Nvidia's most recent official release changed nothing on either 2007WFP. Thoughts?

I bet it is just the bad electronics these monitors have. It is kinda weird that the monitor will does it on both. I used to love Dell for their monitors now I'm not so sure.

I had more problems with my 2007fp:

Blured text:

This one is subtle but there is a 1 pixel small shadow around the text that is not there on the super sharp Dell 2405 I had.

Other wierd thing I noticed. Dancing Banding.

Put your monitor in Multimedia or Gaming mode.
Use checkmon gradient test. This one changes colors at each mouse click.

Change gradient colors: The banding now dances for a second or two until it settles down.

There is one freaky set of electronics in these monitors.

So I am really curious. Does the dancing banding happen on the the 2007WFP as well?

I spoke to soon... had it happen to me with my old 2001FP now. Must be a VGA card issue-- I spoke to EVGA support and they suggested a BIOS update. The BIOS update has been taken down, though. So the tech emailed it to me. I'll be trying it and if anybody wants the VGA card BIOS file for the EVGA model 570 (not OC) 7900GTX PM me.

guidryp--

Yeah dude, does exactly what you say. Gaming Mode, run Checkemon color gradients, and every time I click to change co9lor the bands sort of shimmy until they stabilize. Quel ****** up!
