Back when that K6-2 3dNow owned the Pentium and nowhere man getting the ban-ax for posting about gay marriage.

So, anyone else been here over a decade?

I've gone from single kid with no spell checker or high school degree to IT professional to half-way through my starting a new career as a business professor. The whole while alternately trolling and lurking these boards.

How has your life changed from the time you started posting in this forum?

A few of my brain cells have committed suicide by reading some of the dumb posts people make.

I may have retired a previous account due to.. a misunderstanding... between myself and a particular moderator.

I remember you Magnus, Prince of somewhere. You couldn't spell worth shit back then. Last I saw your posts, you had become a reborn Christian if I remember correctly.

Kind of you to remember. I tell people today "I am retarded" and they tend not to believe me... little do they know you can be retarded and score a 780 on the GMAT.

I'm in school to become a business professor and am going to be a pastor at a church that can't afford to pay for one.

I've noticed that "new recruits" of any ilk tend to be over zealous, it tends to an attempt to avoid cognative dissodence. Truth is: if you live a Christ-like life people end up asking you.. no need to proselytize.

so how's life changed for you?

Me too. I am also less tolerant to other peoples ideas after hearing some ridiculously stupid shit on a daily basis.
Way back in my early days I thought I was open-minded. Now I realize most people dont have opinions worth sharing.

And I know about Nef and some others because lurked for a couple years before joining. Never felt like being part of an online forum until I saw a dude asking questions about TOSLINK, mini-plug, and Digital Coax. I knew exactly how to answer his question so I signed up.

It may feel that way, but the truth was you started off intolerant of their ideas, you just thought you where tolerant of them because you hadn't heard them.

I was hospitalized after a nervous breakdown when I finally learned that dennilfloss' girlfriend was just a figment of his imagination.

I no longer tell tall tales and exaggerate thanks to the Nowheremom fiasco. That was life-changing in this respect. Plus I finally withdrew from the Ph. D. programme due to my myalgic encephalomyelitis. Retired from university teaching too (my position was cut). And nowadays I am much more mellow on the Internet.

NWMom... quite a trolling.

I remember this quite well, though I was more of a lurker at the time. What ever happened to H8tank? I know red-dawn is an P&N troll now :)

I joined when I was in 10th grade I think. I didn't have a lot of direction at that time but a lot changed. Married the girl I met in 11th grade after graduating from college and getting a job halfway across the country and we are expecting our first baby soon. Definitely a big change since I joined AT.
