I answered all the questions to the best of my ability:

County I live in - uh, hasn't changed.
Previous residence - (one is a college dorm location) >> I selected it.
Q3 and Q4 => Utter bs mortgage questions. Haven't taken out a mortgage, so I select none.

Equifax sends me to this page:

TransUnion just tells me to go back to annualcreditreport.com
Experian also tells me to mail it out...ugh

My friend suggested maybe changing county to the college county? Other than that, though, I have no idea.

If you have a car loan or have had one, that may mean the "Mortgage" question. Such as a loan through a credit union...

Did you recently have some type of "Identity Theft Security Alert" added to your credit? If so, you have to snail-mail them, they won't allow you to access the credit report online.

you didn't. Identity theft, FTL?

No, they will ask you questions to which the correct answer is "None of the above".

I'm not sure about this. I have a car loan and when I answer questions to access my credit report, it refers to it as a car loan, not a mortgage.

Nope haven't taken out any loans. Looks like I'll just mail it in w/ the appropriate proofs of ID/address (W2 and Driver's ID respectively).

Some of the information in your report can be formatted very strangely. When we lived overseas with the military, our mailing address was formatted like this: PSC 80 Box 11111, APO AP 96576 (first part is the "street", APO=city, AP=state, zip is wrong but can't remember it). When I looked on my credit report, it was listed VERY bizarrely: Box 11111, AP APO, PSC 80 -- just screwed up in every way possible and screwed up in multiple ways (separate listings). When I tried to access it online, I had the same issue.

Maybe you don't have enough credit history for the identifying questions to identify you? (Sounds like you're fairly young)

I've gone to AnnualCreditReport a few times recently (while I was in college). I didn't have any problem getting my Equifax and Experian reports. But TransUnion said something like, there wasn't enough info for me to do the identifying questions, and I had to request that one by mail.

I'm 32 and got the same response (and the same mortgage question). Never had a loan of any kind.
Not sure why it's that way...

the credit bureaus can all go to hell, dealing with them is like swimming in wet concrete.

I love how one of the questions I usually get is something along the lines of:

Which vehicle did you recently have a loan for:

- Random Luxury Car
- Random Luxury Car
- Nissan Sentra
- Random Exotic Car

WOW, I ALMOST FOOLED MYSELF!
