Annoying window problem

Posted this in OS, but not sure if that is the right forum. Here is the problem:

Probably a simple fix for this, but I dont know what it is.

When I see a PM here, I open it up and half of the window is off screen. I have to drag it to be able to see the whole thing. When I go to reply, that window comes up in exactly the same annoying place. I dont know if this is XP or IE, but if there is a way to make it so the window opens at center screen or abouts so I dispense with the dragging, I'd appreciate knowing how.

Open a PM. Move it to the new spot. Close it. Then close all open browsers. Reopen browser.

While this is probably the answer, this is an application-specific, not an OS, solution.

Many apps remember where they were when they were last closed, and when you reopen the app, it positions its window in the same spot.

You didn't say in which direction the new window was off, but let's just say it's to the right. Just scoot your monitor in that direction until the window is in the position you would like it to be. The only drawback to this solution is that the rest of your open windows will now be partially offscreen in the opposite direction.

Sometimes we just have to make compromises.

Anyway, I opened a PM window, then restarted the machine, hoping XP would remember the location of the last open window. Sounds good. Didnt work
