Annoying text formatting problem...

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but every time I try to use italics to emphasize a specific word, the remainder of the post (after posting) becomes italicized. This happens when using the button on the toolbar AND if I use the bracket codes. I can't even go back and edit to fix it. Any ideas?
 
Make sure you're using {i} and {/i}

Many times I'll mistype the closing tag. If it's just another {i}, then the italic formatting continues.
 
Does that really happen? Even when you preview your post first?

Works OK for me, it seems. What happens when you try to edit it? Do the formatting codes look like they are correct?
 
There's no mistyping on my part. Let me try to explain it a different way...

All of the formatting looks fine when I am composing the post--be it using the tags or using the toolbar icon. It's only after I click "Reply to Thread" that my finalized post shows the problem. Make sense?

Can anyone try this for me to confirm the problem is re-createable by more than one user?

I guess it's just me then...

When I edit the post, it doesn't show the formatting codes, just the fonts themselves.

How do you preview your first post anyhow? I don't see that button anymore, nor have I since the last forum upgrade.

Do you have the WYSIWYG editor turned on? Click on "customize" at the top and change the option that reads "Would you like to draft your messages using the WYSIWYG Editor?" to "No".
 
I used to have the same problem. I stopped using the buttons on the toolbar and now just rely on manually entering the bracketed tags.
 
WYSIWYG editor has been disabled. Everything works just dandy now... 🙂

Maybe the next version of FuseTalk will address these problems?
