Annoying popup, cannot get rid of.. HELP

Hello, I downloaded an .exe file and ran it, with no fear thinking my virus scanner would be able to stop anything from giving me nuisances. Unfortunetely that's not what happened, as now every 10 minutes, a window pops up taking me to "greatpage.org" (which is a porn site). I really want to get rid of this, because it opens up windows all the time. There's nothing weird running in the processes. Please help, thanks.

Those damn pop-ups seem to be really prevelant w/ Win XP & I.E. 6.0 combo. You may want to try WebWasher. Works really well. I just bought Norton Internet Security 2002 which has a Pop-up killer but I haven't installed it yet. Let you know how it works once I install it.

Have a look at the startup in system Info tool.

Start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information
Then Software Environment/Startup Programs.

See if the little sod is starting up in there. It will also give you the location of the file.

If you are unfamiliar with regedit, I'd suggest you simply do a system restore.
