Ok, every once in a while, XP decides that it wants to shut of the current theme I'm using and swich back to the old school windows style.

I'll try to load my favorite theme (the saved file) and it'll tell me that it's disabled and can be started again in the administrative tools in the control panel...

It does this probably like atleast 5-10 times in one sitting at my computer.

Anyone know wtf is happening?

You have any theme managers or other similar things installed? Sounds like the theme service is crashing (thats definately not normal)

Are you using a hacked Uxtheme.dll to enable you to use non MS certified themes?

It could be that Windows file protection is switching the hacked file back to the original signed one which would then disable your theme.

More info please.

Actually, no I'm using an original Windows theme and I'm not using something like Window Blinds either...heres a screen shot, this is when it actually works...notices it's regular XP style with the silver color scheme.

I dunno, I run a pretty tight ship on my PC, daily scans with Ad-aware, Spybot, HijackThis, Spywareblaster. I used to run Norton (but it was a memory hog) and I used to run Avast! but I've only ever had problems with that program causing functionality issues with my PC so I got rid of it.

After running all those programs, my system comes up clean with no problems at all. I have no clue what could be causing it but it hasn't done it yet today but it was annoying the hell outta me last night when it would happen once about ever 10 mins.
