What is up with these people who bid on an auction- then tell you they don't have the money right now? Give me a break.

I'm willing to wait out this particular guy a few days- but I mean come on- if you don't have the money- don't bid!

Common sense. Geez.

Tell them that its ok, and ask for feedback, anyway. When they leave you feedback, then toss them the negative.

Yeah, it sucks. I used to sell antiques for a local shop, and I got that in almost every batch of items I put up.

do your auctions stipulate a payment timeframe? If so, tell them to stick to it or dont bid!

If not, then quit complaining!

Ebay itself stipulates something like 3 business days (not sure exactly), but it's proper to pay the same day if you can.

Unfortunately, even though Ebay says you should pay right away, the NPB process wheels don't turn start turning for something like a month, I think.

EDIT: Just read the Ebay rules. You can file a NPB warning after 7 days. 10 days after that, you can get a final value fee credit issued. The credit will be issued within 48 hours. So the whole process takes 19 days after closing.

I feel your pain and had my first experience with this a few days ago.

My eBay auctions stipulate contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction and payment in full must be received within 10 calendar days.

I've also stipulated in RED that if they have less than 10 feedbacks they must e-mail me first before bidding. What happens? Every n00b in the woodwork with 0, 1 or 2 feedbacks does not email me and bids on my stuff. Then I cancel their bids and send them nasty e-mails.

The only problem I have with people who want payment on a certain timetable are the people who don't accept PayPal or require you to use BidPay for a bid less than $30 so you wind up paying an extra $2.95 or the ones who only take payment from PayPal if you're verified. (Meaning PayPal has your bank account number) In that case I have to send off a money order and usually they want the payment to be there by a certain time. I got news folks: there's no guarantee my mail will leave the state within a week, much less get across the country by the time you want it there. If you want instant payment offer me some instant options.

Fortunately if I e-mail these folks and explain most of them are understanding. It's the ones that aren't understanding that irritate me.
