My boss is leaving the company so we bought madden 2004 as a go away present. As I'm ready to check out the guy at the counter asks me if i want to get espn football instead. I say no. He insists, saying that ESPN football is much better than madden. I say "no, this is a present and I know that the recipient prefers madden". Then he asks if i'd like used version of madden. I repeat "no, this is a present". So then he says: "well i can wrap it up to look like it's new". At that point I'm ready to rip his head off so I say - "NO! Just ring this up, please!".

EB is really going downhill lately. First they don't accept exchanges, now they try to force you to buy stuff. I think I might start going to babbages instead.

He was just trying to be helpful and maybe save you some money.

The first things just sounds like a suggestion based on his opinion. His boss probably gets on his case if they don't sell a certain % of used games each month...can't blame the kid for trying..

Nah... he was just trying to boost his profit margin. He's not that dumb. ;)

Well, after his first question I made it clear that all I wanted was madden. He however, kept insisting.

Was he cute?

Not even close to being as bad as the best buy guys trying to sell the extended warranty.
