Annoying Case Fan Vibrational Problem

I have this LED fan from SVC and I want to use this in the Chenmig Case, the model thats like the Antec LAN BOY. When I mount it in the plastic cover and stick it in the front, I get this low humming noise. I mount it in the rear of the case, and tried using a silicon gromet from directron.com, and I still get that low humming noise. When its not in the case though, ior the plasic holder is not in the case, it doesn't make that annoying noise. Is there anyway to solve this? My case temps are suffering because I can't use this fan.

Try this....a completely decoupled fan mount using electrical boxes from a hardware store. You cut a piece of foam slightly larger than the box, then cut a hole slightly smaller than the fan.Put the fan in the foam, then stuff the assy into the box. You mount it by drilling two small holes to match the little mount tabs.

That's an 80mm fan, like your's, in the photos.....it'll fit a Lanboy perfectly. Cost $1.50.

De-coupled case fan mount....no vibrations.

I've had generally bad luck with crystal fans and noise. I've had that fan in my PSU, but it's not particularly quiet, often developing a very low pitch hum. You could try undervolting it or just swap it with a new fan. I learned my lesson and switched to buying a bunch of L1As whenever I can for cheap.
