I am having an annoying little problem with my car - my seatbelt warning light comes on randomly(but it isnt the seatbelt light so much as it is the accompanying 'beep' that is annoying). I always wear my seatbelt but it does it anyway. I was trying to figure out which it's linked to, but I cant really figure it out. I think the sensor is damaged, does anyone know how I might be able to repair or disable the sensor without giving the dealer the $200 they wanted to fix it?
thanks,
-doug

There isnt a fuse that appears to be the right one. They are all connected to other things that I actually need. It's a 1994 Mazda protege.

I think there was a recall for that problem. My '93 protege did the same thing...kept beeping. Took it to a dealer, they fixed it with no charge. Of course, this was a few years ago, so maybe they won't fix it for free anymore. I think had it done not too long after they announced the recall.

well damn. wish my step-father(who gave me the car)had gotten it fixed. Of course now they'll charge me. If I could find the fuse I'd pull it. The only seatbelt fuse I could find in the manual was linked to automatic belts, which I dont think I should pull and the other was linked to the instrument cluster, which I also need. I dont care about the light, if I could just find that speaker and clip the wire then all would be well.
thanks,
