I would post this in software, but not many people look there. Most websites I visit now bring up this message asking me if I want to allow active x controls to run, and I want to disable it. Anyone know how? I couldn't find it! It is really annoying and just started happening, it does it every time I visit anandtech for example.

It's not add pop-up windows or anything, it's messages in IE warning me that an activex control is trying to start up. For example, everytime I go to a webpage with flash on it, it brings up the message, and if I say no, the flash thing won't load. Anyone know where in the IE settings I can disable this? It just started happening, I don't want to use another browser!

Its there so some moron with an active X control can't make you system do somthing you don't want it to do. An activeX controll...bascially...has full power over the system its running on. Thats why it asks you if you want to trust it. Remove the box, and you'll get all sorts of crap being downloaded...stuff you don't want, and stuff that could be harmful to your system.

i know the dangers, but I'd rather take that risk than have to deal with these messages all of the time I have NAV anyways, for whatever that's worth. Does anyone know how to stop these stupid alert messages? I was doing just fine without them for years!
